Prohibited or Restricted Items
Below is a partial list of prohibited or restricted items. You must review Your User Agreement prior to selling on Main Street Fair. If you have questions whether an item is prohibited or restricted, please refer to the Resources websites listed at the bottom of this page and/or contact Main Street Fair my clicking on the "Contact Us" tab at the top of the Main Street Fair home page.
Prohibited Items
- Adult Only - material or products intended for adults only
- Alcohol/Wine/Beer
- Animals imported from outside of the U.S.
- Art & Artifacts that are protected under federal laws.
- Banknotes
- Contracts in which the seller is not permitted to sell because he or she has a contractual obligation to a third party. Please read any contracts to ensure the right to sell the item is not prohibited.
- Copied software
- Copyrighted items & replicas
- Cosmetics - used
- Counterfeit currency
- Credit cards less than 15 years old.
- Drug paraphernalia
- Drug prescriptions
- Electronic equipment that is unlawful according to Federal Communications Commission law.
- Electronic surveillance Equipment intended for telephone bugging, wiretapping or any type of eavesdropping in which conversations may be heard or tapped without prior knowledge or approval.
- Embargoed goods from countries in which the U.S. has placed sanctions to restrict or regulate trade or importation.
- Endangered species
- Firearm ammunition
- Firearms & offensive guns and other weapons
- Fireworks
- Food
- Gas or oil
- Hazardous Items
- Human bodies and body parts
- Lottery & raffle tickets
- Narcotics or Controlled Substances
- Non-public, non-vintage official government documents, identifications, licenses or official government uniforms
- Pornography
- Prescription and non-prescription medications or drugs
- Property with removed or masked serial numbers
- Radio transmitters
- Recalled items. All manufacturers recalled items are prohibited from being listed on Main Street Fair.
- Secondhand car parts
- Stocks & bonds
- Stolen property
- Torture devices
- Veterinary medicines
- Weapons
- Artifacts, archaeological finds and ethnological material that are protected by the laws of their country of origin or are owned as cultural property of a country.
Restricted items
- Animals
- Catalytic converters - Catalytic converters for sale on Main Street Fair are permitted, however, there are exceptions to this permission to list.
- Cell Phones - The seller of cell phone service contact sales must be an authorized cell phone reseller. Cell phones and their plans must be listed in the Cell Phone Category under the New Plans subcategory only. The listing must include the physical U.S. region, state and zip code, in which the plan services. All usage, billing, or other restrictions must be clearly stated.
- Charity/fundraising listings
- Clothing - second hand. Used clothing must be cleaned according to the manufacturer's instructions. Listing worn or used swimsuits or underwear for sale is not permitted.
- Main Street Fair does not permit sales of fundraising or charitable items, however, banner advertising is permitted.
- Non-imported animals limited to dogs, cats, and horses may be listed on the Main Street Fair site. We advise comprehensive research be conducted and you understand your seller's terms thoroughly before purchasing.
- Plants - please refer to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service below.
- Stamps - Replicas must be clearly marked on the stamp as being a replica, reproduction, copy or imitation.
