Buyer protection
Main Street Fair participants purchase items and services at their own risk. There are precautions we urge you to take to protect yourself. We believe that most issues can easily be avoided or resolved via good communication with the seller. Following the guideline below is important to ensuring that your purchasing experience meets your expectations.
1. Review the listing and its terms regarding selling description, pricing, payment options and shipping.
2. Check the seller feedback and see what others have said about the seller. Avoid sellers with negative feedback.
3. Communication with the seller is key. Before purchasing, email the seller to ask about the item. See how quickly they respond and how complete their answer is. Most important, make sure they have a secure return policy. If you don't get a reply, please take the following steps:
1. Check your email spam or junk mail folders.
2. Check to see that your email information is correct.
3. Ask the seller to provide their contact information so you can call the seller directly. Make sure the seller is not using an anonymous email account. While they could be completely honest, often sellers that don't have a traceable email address are risky.
4. Email Main Street Fair and we will contact the seller for you and work to resolve any contact information issues
4. Avoid paying in cash.
5. Check the timeframe in which you can expect to receive the item. Is it reasonable? If not, contact the seller and see if you can agree upon a more suitable timeframe?
6. Make sure the shipping rate is reasonable.
If you have purchased an item and haven't received it 31 days or more after the purchase, please alert us at admin@mainstreetfair.com. Credit card companies provide varying degrees of buyer protection so please the number on the back of your card and find out more. We also recommend you provide feedback on Main Street Fair. Our feedback is the best way to keep sellers on track and customers safe. Together, we can keep Main Street Fair an enjoyable selling and buying market.
